Real Women Doing Real Things: Jeanna Bonello, Agent at Cloutier Remix

Everyone knows about TV, movie and literature agents, but when it comes to representing some of the top celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist talent, Jeanna Bonello is at the top of the game.  Jeanna’s worked at Cloutier Remix for the past six years and with some of the industry’s top talent- Nikki Lee, Riawna Capri, Florido and Jonathan Colombini, just to name a few.  Here’s what the super agent has to say about her typical day and how she got her start.

Tell us a little about your job as an agent and who you work with.
I represent celebrity makeup artists and hair stylists. I also just launched a new agency under the Cloutier umbrella called Greyscale. Greyscale represents beauty influencers who are up and coming in the world of beauty.  These are often individuals who have dominated the beauty sector with their strong social media presence and now as a strong influencer want or need representation.

What’s a “typical” day for you?
The best part of this job is that no two days are ever the same however the goal is always the same.  We are interested in helping an artist see a bigger picture and a strong professional direction in order to grow artist’s career.  I am a part of a creative team that are talented in both the big picture and the small details and work diligently to support artists with their continued growth and in attracting a celebrity following.

How did you get your start as an agent?
My career started as a modeling agent in San Diego in 2003 and grew from there. I have been in the business of professionally representing talented artists for 14 years and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. It’s in my blood.

What’s your best advice for women who want to follow a similar career path?
Here in Los Angeles we have so many agencies that represent many different types of talent. I suggest that someone who wants this path should start as an agent’s assistant or junior agent so you can really learn all aspects of the business.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I think the best part of my job is seeing the vision I have for an artist begins to help the artist grow and develop their skills and connections.  It is really fulfilling to help make a talented person’s career dreams come true.
